MINUTES OF GROUP EXECUTIVE

HELD ON THURSDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2009

IN FAIRMILEHEAD CHURCH HALL

Chair- D. Graham.

Present- Mr. T. Clark, Mr .K. Reid, Mr. A. McKenzie, Mr. C. Gruber, Mr. A Walton, Mrs. S. Munro, Mrs K. Carruthers. Mrs J. Elder.

1. Apologies- Mrs. L. Kinnaird, Mr. R. Galloway, Mr. K. Mitchell, Mr. A. Morrison, Mr. S. Walton, Mr. R. Hill, Mrs. A. McKenzie.

2. Minutes of last meeting- Approved

3. Matters Arising- None

4. Treasurers Report- £5,465 had been received in subs. We have managed to reduce the garage insurance to £419 saving £700. Gift aid rebate was up by £216.

5. Subscriptions Only 13 boys had still to pay, a follow up letter will be sent by the 30th November. Any subs handed in to the section leaders have to be returned to Jennifer to allow accurate tracking. Boys joining the group in January will be asked to pay 50% on the yearly fee.

6. Fund raising- the meeting decided to hold a fund raising Coffee morning/afternoon at the end of February. The proceeds of this event will be shared between Help the Heroes charity and the group funds. A sub committee has been formed comprising of Shiela, Katherine, Colin, Anthony, Dan and Jennifer.

A Summer Fun has been proposed for June with Bonaly the possible location.

7. Leader recruitment- A letter is to be sent to all the sections explaining the situation of the group; this will be followed by a Recruitment Campaign. Colin, Kenneth and Tom to put together a strategy for this and to be implemented in January.

 

8. Section reports-

GSL- none

SL- Boys won the District flag in September. A visit to the Gang show has been arranged. Summer camp is to Holland in 2010

Castlelaw- Pack holiday was held at Bonaly in September. The boys are undertaking the promise Challenge. Visits to the pantomime and Gang show have been arranged. A team will be taking part in the district Football in November.

Scaldlaw- None.

Beaver Colonies- Packs are preparing for their Safety, Computing and Animal Safety Badges. The packs to take part in a night walk with the help of parents and using torches. A visit to the Gang show has been arranged.
  1. AOB- BT has contacted youth groups offering to supply free Laptops with Internet access to groups for a year. Dan, Bob and Kenneth will discuss the possibility of the group applying.
